Built for the steam
Bathrooms are pretty brutal on gear. Between the steam, the soap scum, and the occasional splash, most electronics just give up. That’s why we went with an IP55 rating. In plain English? It’s protected against dust and can handle water jets from any angle without breaking a sweat. We also used tempered quartz glass and alloys that won’t corrode, so you aren’t replacing the lamp every six months.
Drying things out
There’s a cool side effect here. As the infrared element heats up the room, it actually pushes moisture out of your grout and drywall. It’s like a quiet, passive way to dehumidify your space without a loud machine humming in the corner. Just a tip on where you put it: don’t mount it too low. You want the heat to reach those high ceiling corners—that’s usually where the mold starts its takeover.
A few things to keep in mind
These units pack a punch, which means they pull a decent amount of power. Just double-check that your wiring can handle it so you aren’t tripping breakers in the middle of January. Also, while they’re tough, they aren’t submarines. Don’t install one directly under the showerhead. Give it some breathing room and keep it out of the direct spray to keep those seals tight for years.
