
Getting the Heat Right: It’s All About the Room
Here’s the reality we build around: the heater’s power has to match the size of the space. Especially in bathrooms, where comfort and clearing humidity matter. A 1500W halogen infrared heater is typically the sweet spot for rooms up to about 10 square meters. If you’ve got a larger area—up to 15 square meters—you’ll want the 2500W unit. Get the wattage right and you avoid two headaches at once: you don’t oversize and waste energy, and you don’t undersize and end up with a room that never feels properly warm or dry. More wattage means more infrared intensity, which translates to faster surface heating and quicker moisture evaporation.
Built to Handle the Bathroom
Bathrooms are tough on anything electrical. So we design the core pieces to live there comfortably. The halogen heating element sits inside a quartz tube, which can handle rapid heating and cooling without cracking. Inside, the halogen gas fill protects the filament from oxidation, so it lasts longer than a standard incandescent element. For the connection, we use the R7s base. It’s a standard fit for this type of fixture, holds up at high temperatures, and stays secure even with vibration. It’s also a simple, straightforward wiring setup—meaning you can swap it in as a direct replacement without dragging the installation out.
Warmth That Actually Works—Without the Drama
The goal is simple: deliver a lot of warmth in a small footprint, without wasting energy. Infrared does that by heating objects and walls directly, instead of pumping energy into the air. So the floor feels warm, surfaces dry faster, and you use less energy compared to forced-air systems. That said, the heat is concentrated. A 2500W unit puts out serious heat density, so the wall material and nearby fixtures need to handle higher surface temperatures. You’ll want proper mounting distance and local ventilation in place. When it’s spec’d correctly, these heaters do exactly what you want: they clear fogged mirrors, keep the room dry, and deliver reliable warmth—without the shock of a huge electricity bill.
