On the fab floor, the photoresist bake isn’t optional—it’s a spec. Temperature drift of even 0.5°C across the wafer will move critical dimensions and wreck yield. We built our semiconductor lab oven lamp for that reality.
What actually matters under the hood
It comes down to infrared precision. Our NIR lamp lays down a sub-millimeter uniform thermal field, translating to wafer-level uniformity within ±0.1°C. This isn’t brute power; it’s spectral control and reflector geometry done right.
The payoff is repeatable soft bake and hard bake profiles, cycle after cycle. In practice, that means predictable photoresist flow, line widths you can bank on, and a stable thermal budget.
Why it holds up in a real fab
The lamp drops straight into Class 1–100 cleanroom ovens. Zero particle generation is table stakes, so the design uses sealed quartz envelopes and low-outgassing fixtures to keep particle counts at baseline.
Reliability is measured in uptime. Units run 5,000+ hours with less than 5% output drop, so you stop chasing lamp failures and start tracking process stability. Energy use drops too, because NIR heats the wafer, not the chamber walls.
What you need to watch on install
Installation is straightforward, but thermal coupling matters. The lamp has to mate to the oven’s thermal mass with the right clearance and alignment—otherwise, hot spots show up.
Expect a brief ramp-up to setpoint; plan your recipes around a 30-second stabilization window. And while the lamp works with most oven platforms, retrofitting older ovens may need a small control interface change. We provide the interface specs up front so there are no surprises.
